The work
An integration may need to copy a record, send a change back or keep selected fields in sync. We build the connector around those operations and the APIs the applications provide. A field map records the source of each value, any conversion and the direction of travel.
Before choosing scheduled transfers or event-driven updates, we check the vendor’s access rules, endpoints and test facilities. Pagination, rate limits and missing event types can affect how often the connection runs and how it catches up after an interruption.
The connector also needs to account for requests with an uncertain result. We use the API’s duplicate protections and available record references to decide what can be repeated safely. Transfer logs and recovery instructions give the person investigating a failure a way to find the affected records.
Technical considerations
- API access may depend on the vendor subscription, account permissions or approval process.
- Update frequency depends on available events, rate limits and the volume of records to transfer.
